Elevatus Announces Leadership Evolution to Strengthen Future Growth and Continuity

NEWS RELEASE

Elevatus, a national leader in architecture and design across the justice, health & wellness, and education sectors, today announced an evolution of its leadership structure designed to reinforce continuity, shared responsibility, and the company’s positive momentum.

Mike Gouloff

Mike Gouloff, an icon in architecture with a career spanning five decades and an unparalleled local and national portfolio, will transition into the role of Chairman. His vision and leadership have elevated Elevatus to one of the most respected names in the business, including a Top 10 standing in Justice design and a leader in Health and Wellness design. In his new role, Gouloff will focus on long-term vision and strategy, mentor the firm’s partner leadership, and support key growth initiatives.

The firm is elevating select leaders to Senior Partner roles, sharing leadership responsibilities across the executive team while reflecting the diverse expertise and accomplishments of the group:

  • Cory Miller, current President at Elevatus and a key leader since its founding in 2015, will oversee firm operations, talent development and teaching initiatives, and select government and public relations efforts. He is also leading the firm’s expansion across the Pacific.
  • Tom Salzer, who joined Elevatus following the acquisition of Bona Vita Architecture in 2023, will focus on visioning and strategy, shape business development and public relations efforts, contribute to talent initiatives, and lead the firm’s Thrive commitment.
  • Ali Bowersock, who joined the firm in 2024 after an accomplished career in healthcare administration and operations, will oversee administration, including HR and finance, guide firmwide strategy, and lead government relations efforts.

Further, as part of the Partner team, Craig Armstrong and Tony Vie will serve as co-leads of Elevatus’ Justice practice. Consistently ranked among the Top 10 Justice design firms in the country, Elevatus is currently leading several of the nation’s largest corrections projects in construction. Building on this success, the firm is strategically strengthening leadership within the Justice market to support continued growth and serve clients nationwide. In their roles, Vie will lead visioning and business development, while Armstrong will oversee operations and execution, aligning strategy with delivery across the practice.

Across its other core markets, Elevatus continues to build momentum. Health and Wellness remains a national leader, Education is sharpening its higher education focus through cross-market work, and the Pacific market is gaining traction through strong partnerships and continued investment.

The firm also maintains a strong local focus, advancing community-driven projects across Northeast Indiana. Founded in 1958, Elevatus has helped shape the Fort Wayne community through decades of impactful work and continues to build on that legacy while expanding its reach nationwide.

This leadership evolution builds on that success by formalizing a structure already driving results, strengthening alignment, accountability, and the foundation for continued growth.

Rather than following a traditional C-suite model, Elevatus is embracing a modern approach to leadership built on shared responsibility. Each Partner contributes focused expertise and established leadership aligned with their strengths, forming a collaborative, complementary team positioned to guide the company into its next chapter.

As I looked ahead to stepping back from day-to-day leadership over time, I wanted to be sure Elevatus had the structure and proven talent in place to keep growing and delivering at the highest level,” said Gouloff. “With Cory, Tom, and Ali stepping into Senior Partner roles, the pieces are in place. With complementary strengths, shared focus, and the right leadership chemistry, I have complete confidence this team will carry our mission forward and continue raising the standard for our clients and communities.”

This continued leadership evolution ensures Elevatus remains positioned for its next level of growth while building on the momentum of success. The company remains committed to a culture of collaboration, excellence, and innovation that benefits clients, partners, and the communities it serves.
