Creating a new school goes beyond design. It takes collaboration, energy, and strong connections. At Milford Elementary, those connections helped shape a space rooted in the people and experiences it was built for.
Connection began early at Milford Elementary through a student engagement activity that introduced learners to the new school taking shape on their property. As students explored ideas for their future school, it was exciting to see the level of thought and creativity they brought to the process, helping shape a space they would soon call their own.
The start of the project was marked by a groundbreaking that brought together the project team and school community. It was a meaningful moment to celebrate the beginning of a new direction for Milford Elementary, one built through collaboration and a shared vision.
Throughout the project, students, staff, and faculty played a role in shaping their future school. That effort came full circle during the ribbon cutting, where they gathered in the new gymnasium to celebrate the opening of a space filled with opportunity.
Even after opening, the connection continued. In partnership with Michael Kinder & Sons, the team returned to deliver bookmarks to students, staff, and faculty, closing out the project with a meaningful moment that reflected the relationships built along the way.
