Ali Bowersock joins Elevatus as Chief Administrative Officer
When Ali Bowersock was just five years old, her kindergarten class took a field trip to a downtown Fort Wayne architecture firm to learn about the industry. As the president of the firm spoke, outlining what a career in architecture entailed, Ali sat at the head of the conference table and thought to herself, “I want to do this.”
Perhaps it was the power of Mike Gouloff’s speech that day, or maybe he succeeded in showing his young daughter that she could do anything she set her mind to. Either way, life has come full circle for Ali — she’s now joined Elevatus as Chief Administrative Officer.
Throughout her career in healthcare administration and operations, Ali honed her focus on improving team efficiencies and organizational processes. Her passion for helping others consistently drove her to make lasting impacts on the people and organizations she worked with, creating more effective and people-centered workplaces.
When she was faced with the prospect of moving to the architecture industry, Ali admits she needed to identify what kind of impact she could make. The answer was clear: it was still all about the people.
“What really was encouraging for me to switch from the healthcare industry to architecture is that we are very people-centered,” Ali says. “From the communities that we’re involved in, to the clients that we work with, to the coworkers that we’re working with at Elevatus, it’s all about the people and making the best and right impact for the people.
“It does go back to the people-centeredness of the company. You hear Mike talk about all the time ‘doing the right thing.’ And from my perspective, when he says that, it’s about doing the right thing for the clients, doing the right thing for the community, and doing the right thing for our coworkers that we’re working with.”
The principle of ‘doing the right thing‘ has been instilled in Ali since she was that little girl we mentioned before. Her dad would tell her all the time, “If you do the right thing, if you work your hardest, then I’m going to be proud of you.”
At Elevatus, that same value is a cornerstone of the company’s culture. On any given day, you’ll hear “Do the right thing” echo through the office, a testament to the firm’s unwavering commitment to integrity.
“It’s a clear value,” Ali says. “It’s such a simple phrase and a simple term, but something that everybody can get behind and understand. I think that’s how you develop excellence. And it drives that internal motivation. That’s what makes, to me, this company so special and why I’m proud to be working here.”
Elevatus is equally proud to have Ali — along with her 1 1/2-year-old son, Leo, who now makes frequent visits to the office where both his mom and grandpa work.
With both family and career now intertwined, Ali is ready to take on her new role with the same dedication that has always defined her.
As Chief Administrative Officer, Ali will leverage her extensive experience to establish a strong foundation that supports the firm’s rapid growth. She will focus on identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency, ensuring that Elevatus’ mission, vision, and values — and particularly its commitment to people — remain at the forefront of its continued success.
It’s a significant challenge, but one Ali has been preparing for since she was five years old.
