Indianapolis International Airport needed an executive terminal experience that matched the pace and expectations of private aviation: clear to navigate, comfortable on arrival, and fully equipped for passengers, pilots, and staff. For Signature Flight Support, the goal was a facility that could welcome guests with confidence while supporting the behind-the-scenes work that keeps every departure moving smoothly.
To bring that vision to life, Signature Flight Support selected Elevatus Architecture to design a modern terminal with a memorable identity and an effortless flow from curb to lobby.
The finished building is defined by a distinctive wing roof that appears to float above the terminal, creating an iconic presence for the facility. Clerestory glass pulls natural light deep into the interior, and a covered landside drop-off offers immediate shelter and ease. Inside, the terminal unfolds in a sequence that feels intuitive: a generous lobby with coffee, vending, and seating, a customer service desk, and business-ready spaces including a conference room, business center, phone and internet rooms, and flight planning with networked computer systems and maps. A pilot lounge with video screens, workstations, and private showers supports rest and readiness. Operational areas complete the picture with tower communication, a galley kitchen, lockers, break room, training rooms, and offices, plus a ground support facility with a maintenance garage, utility rooms, and a storage mezzanine.
Today, the terminal helps Signature deliver a smoother, more welcoming travel moment and a more capable base of operations, pairing an iconic silhouette with everyday comfort and service.
