Faced with the growing need for healthcare on Greencastle’s northeast side, Putnam County Hospital partnered with the Elevatus Healthcare team to design a new outpatient center within the Putnam County YMCA. Strategically planned to provide timely access to care and outpace competing systems, this facility brings essential services closer to the community.
The project’s complexity — being owned by the City of Greencastle with the YMCA and hospital as tenants — demanded seamless communication among all stakeholders. We navigated this challenge by ensuring inclusivity in every decision, resulting in a collaborative and functional design.
The center accommodates Family Practice, Prompt Care, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Medicine, with features like dual access points and spaces tailored for Patients of Size. It also introduces updated outpatient interior standards for a cohesive and welcoming environment. Beyond healthcare, a Teaching Kitchen and Community Room foster wellness education, with live-streaming capabilities to share healthy cooking classes across the YMCA, hospital, and city platforms.
The Putnam County Hospital Outpatient Center combines healthcare and community wellness, creating a hub that supports healthier lives and strengthens local connections.
