You might think the long-established protocols and practices of our justice system wouldn’t leave architects much room to play with how courtrooms and courthouses are configured. But you’d be wrong. Courthouse design is constantly evolving. A good example is the trend to move away from the traditional one courtroom/one judge’s chamber toward more collegial spaces and courtroom sharing.
